Chuck Menefee - Athletic Alumni 2017

Coming off an injury-plagued year, Chuck Menefee quarterbacked the Ann Arbor High School football team to win the 1962 state championship. He was named to the All-State team and the captain of the Detroit All-State team.

As a basketball player Chuck was known to be a staunch defensive player. His coach always made sure he was assigned the other team’s best offensive player. In 1963, the men’s basketball team won the District championship.

Given all of Chuck’s talent, perhaps his best sport was golf. He finished in the top three each of his state golf championships. 

In his adult life, Chuck was the co-designer and construction superintendent of the Little Traverse Bay Golf Club in Harbor Springs. His golf course was rated in the top ten in Michigan and in the top 100 nationally.
