Christine Hines - Athletic Alumna 2010

Christine Hines graduated from Pioneer High School in 1981.  She earned varsity letters in field hockey, volleyball, and track and received the Pioneer Booster Club Versatility Award in 1981.  Christine received Most Improved and High Scorer Awards in field hockey, MVP and Captain in volleyball, and Most Improved, All-State, and Captain awards in track.  She was also the 1981 Clarence Illi Award recipient.  Christine attended Penn State University where she competed in track and received a Varsity Athletic Award.  From 1995 to 2005, Christine participated in the U.S. Association of Volleyball as both a competitor and certified referee.  She also competed in Mid-Atlantic Volleyball and Columbia Doubles Volleyball, and currently competes in the U.S. Tennis Association.  Christine says that she has a great deal of respect for each of her Pioneer coaches.  “I learned to push myself physically and mentally and that has contributed to my continued success in sports and at work.”
